search engines and gradeschool games

Yes, Google bought Dodgeball. You probably read all about it and quickly pretended to know what Dodgeball is - namely, one of the most efficient methods of involuntarily burning through your text message allotment ever conceived, all wrapped up in a quirky, retro domain name. ("Hey Alex, I just bought - want to start a business?")

Be sure to stay tuned as the other engines play catch-up; for example, we've already heard rumors about about the following transactions, ranked in order of purchase price:
  • Yahoo purchasing Tag
  • Ask Jeeves purchasing Four-Square
  • Lycos purchasing Kickball
  • and AltaVista (poor AltaVista) stuck bidding on the old Chicagoland favorite, Kill The Guy
