google moon beta - exclusive shots

Yes, by now, you've all seen (or read about) the release of Google Moon, just in time for the 36th anniversary of the first moon landing.

But damn it, some of those Google interns nearly ruined the whole thing for Larry Schwimmer, the guy who wanted this thing so badly in the first place. We've unearthed (so to speak) an exclusive shot of the site, as it appeared yesterday, with just minutes to go until it went live. Otherwise, the Google Moon team surely would have looked like a bunch of asses.

This did make me wonder why they went to the same spot on the moon six or seven (I can't remember) in three years? What is on that spot? And do you really believe they BROUGHT THOSE AWESOME MOONCARS WITH THEM?
